Books |
Books are located on the main floor of the library. They are arranged by Library of Congress call number. New books are located in front of the VetMed Group Study Room.
Journals |
At the Animal Health Library, print journals are shelved alphabetically by title. Recent issues of journals (unbound) are located on the main floor across from the Circulation Desk. Older (bound) journals whose titles begin with the letter A-An are shelved on the main floor. Bound journal volumes with titles that begin with the letters An-Z are shelved on the lower level. Journals can be checked out at the Circulation Desk. Detailed holdings information for each title can be found in Griffin. Scanned copies of articles from journals, whether owned by WSU in print, or not available electronically, may be ordered via Article Reach (see Interlibrary Loan section below).
The Animal Health Library maintains a list of veterinary journals indexed in PubMed.
Many journals are available in electronic form. Consult the WSU Libraries' list of Electronic Journals for a complete listing of journals available electronically at WSU.
Library Catalogs |
To find out what books and journals the library has on a particular subject, use Griffin, the WSU Libraries' online catalog. In Griffin you can search by author, title, or the subject of the book or journal. If you have questions, Circulation staff or the librarian will be glad to help you.
The holdings of 30+ college and university libraries, including the University of Washington, OSU, OHSU, and other libraries world wide can be searched using the WSU WorldCat. Patrons can request books that WSU does not own. Books will be delivered to the campus library of your choice, at no cost to you! Faculty and graduate students can request office delivery for both not owned and owned books.
Databases |
The WSU Libraries' Find Journal Articles page lists electronic resources available in WSU Libraries, such as PubMed, CAB Abstracts (via VetMed Resource), Web of Science, etc. Search Databases by Subject, Veterinary Medicine, to find databases on animal health. These resources are accessible from WSU (Pullman) campus locations, or remotely (for Pullman-affiliated patrons) by using your name and WSU Network ID.
