Be sure to check out these free resources: Free full-text journal collections available to everyone include:

The Library has access to many electronic indexes, including, but not limited to, MEDLINE (Index Medicus), Toxline, and other National Library of Medicine databases, and electronic versions of Index Veterinarius (VET and BEAST). If you visit us in person, we would be glad to assist you with a search in any of these databases.

If you aren't certain where to begin, we encourage you to call and ask to speak to a librarian. We would be happy to discuss your needs and to match them with the best resources. Information from some sources can also be supplied at minimal cost. We can usually mail materials to you within 2 working days.

The Library's collection includes international coverage of the veterinary literature as well as human medicine and other biomedical journals.

We can provide photocopies of articles from our collection. Charges are usually $14 for articles up to 20 pages ($12 per article and a $2 per article invoice fee), plus $0.15 per additional page.

The Library also owns many veterinary and biomedical books. We can photocopy specific chapters or pages from these books.

All copying is done in accordance with United States Copyright Law (Title 17, U.S.Code), and is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research."

You may make the request by phone, mail, fax, or e-mail. Fax delivery is an additional $8 per photocopy (up to 20 pages, plus $0.35 per additional page). Rush fees are $8 per article. It may be possible to send articles via email. Contact us for further details.

To order articles, you may consider registering with our Loansome Doc program. Loansome Doc is the National Library of Medicine's (NLM) fee-based program that enables PubMed users to electronically order photocopies of documents. PubMed is the NLM web program that provides health professionals access via personal computer to MEDLINE and other MEDLARS databases. For more information on Loansome Doc (including fees), and to access a registration form, visit our Loansome Doc Information page.

Contact the interlibrary loan department of your local public library to borrow a book.
