Friends of the Libraries

Types of Giving

Annual Giving

The Libraries at WSU rely on the generosity of friends who believe in our mission and who consistently contribute on an annual basis. Your unrestricted gifts are valuable in purchasing resources which otherwise would not be available to students and faculty because of the tight budget. Leadership gifts of $1,000 or more to WSU each year entitle the donor to become a President’s Associate of the University.

Special or Campaign Giving

In addition to annual giving, many friends want to make a greater impact either in areas of their passion or by helping the Dean to fulfill the highest priorities of The Libraries. This impact can happen through the establishment of a permanent fund called an endowment. Donors name their endowments and leave a written record about their motivations for doing so, as well as general guidelines about their intended use of the money.

Ultimate Giving

Friends of the WSU Libraries can maximize support and receive significant tax and financial benefits through a planned, or estate, gift. This could be as simple as naming WSU Libraries in your will or could involve creating a more complicated planned giving vehicle. The Gift Planning officers at WSU have a breadth of expertise and stand ready to assist with your charitable options.

Non-Cash Giving

The WSU Libraries have one of the finest research collections in the region, thanks in part to generous gifts by donors of books, journals, CDs, videos and more. Non-Cash Giving enriches our collections in size, scope and diversity.
