Biography/History
The George Wilson family farmed near Colton, Washington. There were four sons: Leon, Robert, Byron and Lewis. Leon attended Whitman College in Walla Walla for two years around 1910. During the summer of 1911 he played baseball for the Chicago White Sox as a pitcher. Neighboring farms near Colton included the Nathan Maynard and the M. A. Ferguson farms.
Scope and Content
The Wilson family photographs include scenes in and around Colton, Washington, Baseball teams with Leon Wilson, the flood of 1913 in Burke, Idaho, and Whitman College, and Squally John of the Nisqually tribe. Most of the photographs are from between 1895 and 1913 with a few taken later.
