Biography/History
Florence Mabel Armstrong Hoskins was born in 1863 in Winnebago, MN. Her husband, Robert, was a newspaperman and then a lawyer. They married ca. 1884 and lived in Bathgate, ND until 1889 and Bismarck, ND thereafter. She died in 1941.
Scope and Content
The album contains 12 labeled black and white photographs of family members and homes in North Dakota. Pictured are Florence Mabel Armstrong Hoskins' children Brooks, Etta, and Helen. "Ike and family" in the scrapbook probably refers to the family of Isaac J. Foster, who married Florence's sister Laura Elizabeth "Lizzie" Armstrong. Also pictured at "father's" are two older people, presumably Florence's father and mother, John Armstrong and Laura Hollembeck Armstrong. An annotation in the front of the scrapbook includes a note that it was presented to L[yndon]. K. Armstrong, Florence's brother. The photographs at "father's" are mostly likely at Winnebago, MN; the photographs. Other photographs are likely either in Bismarck, ND, or Bathgate, ND.
Arrangement
The album is retained in its original order and binding.
