PC 132
Pullman Womens Golf Club
Scrapbooks, 1935-2006

This collection was received as UPC 09-04 at WSU Libraries' Manuscripts, Archives, and Special Collections on November 30th, 2009 from Margery Bennett of Pullman, WA. The three scrapbooks were originally compiled by Phyllis Daugherty. The collection was processed by University Archivist Mark O'English in December, 2009.

Number of Containers: 2 box
Number of Images & Clippings: 1000 ca.

The Pullman Womens Golf Club was a local social organization founded in 1935. With the removal of their long-time course in favor of a newer one, the Club last played in 2005, though officers were elected into 2006 and members continued to meet unofficially thereafter.

The collection consists of three scrapbooks in chronological order, and that original order has been maintained. For ease of storage, the earlier two scrapbook bindings have been discarded and the first two books are retained as foldered loose pages. The discarded bindings were of a generic commercial nature.

Materials include programs and newspaper clippings from events, photographs, and officers lists. Over time, the contents of the albums evolve - the earlier years are primarily represented by clippings, but by the later years, there are significantly more photographs than clippings.

This collection is open and available for research use. Copyright restrictions may apply.
