Biography/History

The Delta Society has its origins in the Delta Foundation, established in 1977 in Portland, Oregon in 1977. In 1981, the name was changed to the Delta Society, and Leo Bustad, a Washington State University faculty member and veterinarian, became its president. In 2012, well after the latest-dated materials in this collection, the name was changed to Pet Partners. The organization's main focus is on the human-animal bond.
