Biography/History

John P. "Jack" Corley (1922- ) was employed by the Pacific Northwest Laboratories in Richland, Washington. He served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers during World War II, and then worked for the United States Rubber Company. In 1947 he began working as Radiation Monitor, Shift Engineer, and HP Supervisor for the General Electric Company at Richland, WA at the Hanford nuclear complex. In 1965, he began working for Battelle Northwest, where he held a series of positions including Environmental Surveillance Manager, Senior Research Engineer and Staff Engineer, and Technical Leader of the Radiological Sciences Department. His major professional interests were environmental surveillance and evaluation, and radioactive waste management.

Scope and Content

This collection consists of papers of scientist J.P. Corley. It includes correspondence, reports, materials related to his research on health physics topics, and to his involvement with professional organizations.
