Biography/History
Albert E. Powell was a professor of agricultural engineering at Washington State University from 1960 to 1994. In 1974, he won the R.M. Wade Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and the WSU College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences maintains a scholarship in his honor.
Scope and Content
This collection consists of papers of agricultural engineer and Washington State University faculty member Albert Powell. It includes a small amount of material related to a textbook about agricultural structures that Powell was writing (circa 1978) with a co-author, Richard Linhardt (filed in box 1), and a large sequence of reference files on topics in agricultural engineering, organized in a highly structured numerical classification. The topics of these files include: electrification, machinery, processing, and structures. These materials are published documents, primarily printed ephemera.
Arrangement
This is an unprocessed collection. Any arrangement reflects either a pre-existing order from the records' creators or previous custodians, or preliminary sorting performed by staff.
The bulk of the materials in this collection are reference files arranged in the highly structured numeric classification scheme used by Albert Powell.
