Biography/History

Dr. Richard L. Ott was a Veterinary Medicine professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University from 1949 to 1983. The small animal unit of the WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital is named after Dr. Ott, and the College of Veterinary Medicine also has an endowment in his name.

Scope and Content

This collection consists of professional papere of Dr. Richard L. Ott. It contains publications by Ott on subjects pertaining to canines and felines, including research on "old dog" encephalitis, canine distemper, and feline respiratory virus disease. The collection also includes incoming and outgoing correspondence about conferences held by the Veterinary Medical Association, and miscellaneous notes. Additionally, this collection contains research files that mainly pertain to infectious diseases and virus vaccination.
