Biography/History

Marie L. (Savage) Moree (1910-2011) was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts from Michigan State Normal College (now Eastern Michigan University) before marrying Ray Moree (1913-1998) of Ellensburg, WA, in 1941. Ray and Marie moved to Pullman, WA, where he served as a Professor of Zoology at Washington State University from 1942-1977. Marie remained in Pullman until her death in 2011.

Scope and Content

This collection consists of personal papers and household records of Marie L. Moree (1910-2011) of Pullman, WA, from 1928 to 1995. This collection contains diaries with daily entries throughout Marie's lifetime, as well as handwritten household account books noting weekly and monthly expenses, records of food canning, and local events. These papers provide extensive information about the household economics of the Moree family, specifically from the time they moved to Pullman in 1942 to 1995.
