Biography/History
Pullman Tractor Company was a farm machinery company in Pullman, Washington, owned by Gordon Klemgard. In addition to the farm machinery company, these records also document Klemgard Pea Processing, which operated an elevator in the North Grand area of Pullman, and Klemgard Distributors, a fertilizer and farm chemical sales and application business. The successor company to Pullman Tractor was Columbia Tractor (Machinery) Company. Klemgard Pea Processing was succeeded by Dumas Pea Company (the manager for Klemgard was Ed. Dumas). The assets of the fertilizer firm were acquired by the McGregor Company in 1960.
Scope and Content
Records of three Pullman, Washington businesses owned partly or completely by Gordon Klemgard, primarily Pullman Tractor Co. In addition to the farm machinery company, the records also document Klemgard Pea Processing, which operated an elevator in the North Grand area of Pullman, and Klemgard Distributors, a fertilizer and farm chemical sales and application business.
