Siegfried Vogt (1979-2010) was born in Bavaria, Germany, and immigrated to the United States in 1956. He studied forestry and social sciences at Oregon State University and earned his bachelor's degree in 1961. Continuing his higher education, he earned a diploma in international relations from the University of Vienna in 1964, a master's degree in political science from the University of Idaho in 1965, and a Ph.D. in political science from Washington State University (WSU) in 1971. After working as a fire lookout, timber cruiser, and member of a hot shot fire crew, he entered academia, becoming a librarian and full professor at WSU.

This collection consists of newspapers, newsletters, and posters collected by Siegfried Vogt, related to radical and counterculture groups.
