Biography/History
Jack "Waller" Hills (1867-1938) was a Member of Parliament, government minister, and husband of Stella Duckworth (1869-1897), half-sister of the British author Virginia Woolf. After Stella's early death, Hills maintained contact with Virginia Woolf, her sister Vanessa, and other members of her family. He oversaw a trust which provided money for Stella's two half-sisters.
Scope and Content
This collection consists of a single item: a 1929 pocket diary maintained by Jack Waller Hills, a Member of Parliament and government minister, recording political and constituency meetings and palace appointments.
