Biography/History
Most of the documents in this collection are associated with Samuel D. Davis, a Pullman, Washington horse dealer. He acquired Belgian stallions from Iowa as breeding stock, particularly for cross-breeding with saddle horses to produce offspring that would perform well for farmers engaged in wheat production in the hilly Palouse region.

This collection contains bills of sale, pedigrees, and other documents about Belgian stallions acquired by businesses in the Palouse region of Eastern Washington as breeding stock.
