Biography/History

Most of the documents in this collection are associated with Samuel D. Davis, a Pullman, Washington horse dealer. He acquired Belgian stallions from Iowa as breeding stock, particularly for cross-breeding with saddle horses to produce offspring that would perform well for farmers engaged in wheat production in the hilly Palouse region.
