- Notes, drafts, maps and photographs regarding zoological investigations among migratory water fowl and parasites in the Columbia Basin Irrigation Project. The photographs additionally document the general effect of the introduction of large scale irrigation in central Washington in the early 1950s.

Biography/History
Charles Winslow McNeil (b. 1916) received the Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Michigan in 1942 and joined the faculty of Washington State University a few years later. His principle research interests, as indicated by his papers, were with migratory waterfowl, parasites, and the zoological effects of the introduction of massive irrigation in central Washington.
Scope and Content
McNeil's papers consist of drafts of his doctoral disseration and certain articles, and of photographs and maps relative to his investigation of the early years o£ the Columbia Basin Irrigation Project.
Arrangement
Papers are arranged according to subject, while the approximately 1075 photographs were retained in their original order.
