Biography/History
The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation is a sovereign nation governed by a 14-person board of adult Colville tribal members officially titled the Colville Business Council and informally called the tribal council. The Business Council was established as the governing board of the Tribes in 1938. (Source: www.colvilletribes.com)
Scope and Content
This collection contains minutes, resolutions, ordinances and official statements of the Business Council, 1963-1971, and other printed and manuscript materials, especially relating to the termination of federal supervision of the tribes, 1954-1970.

This collection is arranged in two series. Series 1: Business Council records, arranged in chronological order. Series 2: Governance and economic documents, especially relating to the termination of federal supervision of the tribes.
