The WSU Libraries purchased this collection from dealer Charles Apfelbaum in 2008 (MS-2008-05). Cheryl Gunselman processed the collection in 2008. The collection included several textile items related to Coumbe's service in the United States Navy (uniforms and related items), and these materials were transferred in 2009 to the WSU Historic Costume and Textiles Collection.
