Story of a young Chinese couple who fall in love, marry, and then are separated when the Emperor demands more workers on the Great Wail. After the wife’s father is arrested and her mother dies, she travels north to be with her husband. When she arrives at the Wall, she finds that her husband has been selected as one of the workers to be killed as a sacrifice called for by the Emperor. The husband is killed as the wife fights for his freedom.
