AD HOC TASK FORCE ON LIBRARY STATISTICS
Charge:
In partnership with the branch campus libraries, working groups, and relevant library departments:
- Review the statistics required by national organizations (ARL, IPEDS, etc.)
- Explore the feasibility of gathering additional statistics that will aid in the allocation of library budgets, the implementation of quality services, and the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Libraries
- Evaluate the identified needs and prioritize them
- Review the current statistical gathering methods, consider what statistical information is available via our automated system, and outline efficient and effective ways to compile statistical data
- Identify ways that Innovative Interfaces Inc. might improve their software to make the Libraries statistics gathering more efficient and effective;
- Explore ways to share statistical information with library faculty and staff, as appropriate
- Design a programmatic plan for the implementation of these changes

LC would like to receive an "interim progress report" by April 15, 2000. The Ad Hoc TF is asked to submit their final report to LC by November 30, 2000.
