Architecture Library - General Library Information
Materials Available: The Architecture Library contains over 25,000 volumes and over 65 current journal titles in the areas of architecture, its history, theory and practice. Selected materials in Building Codes and Standards, Construction Management, Historic Preservation, Interior Design, Landscape Design and Structural Design are also here.
- Books: Books are arranged in call number order in two sections:
- Library of Congress books are located in the main stacks. All oversized books are located on the bottom shelves directly below their proper call number.
- Dewey Decimal books are located on the far wall to your left as you enter the library. All oversized books are located on the bottom shelves directly below their proper call number.
- Journals:
- Current journals are displayed in the lounge area and are arranged alphabetically.
- Bound journals are also arranged alphabetically by title, in the journal area of the main stacks.
- Reference/Reserve Area: The room to your right as you enter the library houses both reference and reserve materials.
- Reserve Books are located by call number on the shelves closest to the copy machine. A list of classes which have placed these books on reserve is posted there.
- A small reference collection, including directories, encyclopedias, standards, codes, and general reference books is also located in this room. The Architecture Library Specialist and other Architecture Library staff are available to assist patrons in the use of the Architecture Library.
- Circulation: All material leaving the Architecture Library must be checked out at the Circulation Desk. A valid WSU ID card is required. Application for off-campus users can be made at the desk. Loan periods vary from 2 hours to semester loans.
- Interlibrary Loan: Materials which are not owned by WSU may be obtained through Interlibrary Loan. A fee is charged for this service. For further details, inquire at the circulation desk.
- Other Facilities: A copy machine, copycard vendor, microfiche reader, videocassette player and slide/tape player are available at the Architecture Library. The lost and found for Carpenter Hall is also located in the Architecture Library. A book drop for returning books when the library is closed is located directly outside the Library door.
