VLADIVOSTOK: A HISTORIC WALKING TOUR

  22, SVETLANSKAYA STREET

“WHITE HOUSE”

Constructed for the Regional Committee of the Communist Party, this multi-story building decorated with white marble, which has earned it the nickname the “White House,” dominates Vladivostok’s central square.  Unfortunately, it overwhelms the surrounding old architectural monuments.  It was designed by architect E. Rozanov and completed in 1983.  Today the building houses the Regional Administration of Primorye.
