Biography/History

Attorney Robert "Bob" Burks, Washington State College class of 1954, was a lifetime Washington State Cougar football fan (his father was a center for the Cougars in 1923). Burks began collecting clippings and photos as a child, and continued doing so all his life, compiling scrapbooks of them. In 1980, Richard Fry's book on WSU sports history, The Crimson and the Gray: 100 Years with the WSU Cougars describes Bob Burks on pages 274-275 as "hands down" WSU's number one football fan. Burks passed away in Bellevue, Washington on July 10th, 2009.
