Organizational History:
Research and Graduate Education, directed by Associate Dean W. G. Huber, became a unit of the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1976. There were two purposes for the unit: 1) to handle graduate student records, and 2) to be a research information center with activities that included identifying agencies that wished to fund research and acting as a liaison between them and researchers, and the keeping of records on proposal funding and research progress. After the departure of the Associate Dean in 1982, Research and Graduate Education was split into two units, Research Resources and Graduate Education, each under the administration of a director.
Arrangement note
The records constitute a single numerical series. The collection includes correspondence, reports, minutes and memoranda. The records are arranged according to a "decimal" system instituted by the Research and Graduate Education unit. It places all records into classes numbered between 4.5 and 4.9. The overall structure of this numerical filing system is not known.
