These recordings from the 1977 hearing were transferred to the Archives between 1977 and 1979. It consists of seven cassette tapes.

ARRANGEMENT AND DESCRIPTION

Farm Price problems affecting wheat and livestock producers: hearing before the Subcommittee on Livestock and Grains of Accession No.: the Committee on Agriculture. House of Representatives 95th Congress, first session.

Testimony from approximately 150 witnesses was taken at this hearing which was held four days before the Farmers' Strike of the American Agricultural Movement. The testimony is primarily concerned with the economic situation of the family farm, the wheat set-aside program, parity, pricing, and the export of grain.

A full transcript of the hearing as well as additional testimony entered into the record (each witness was allowed only two minutes to speak but complete statements could also be submitted) is located in the U.S. Public Documents section of Holland Library: Y 4.Ag 8/1: P93/15.

Service, Robert W. Recitations, undated

The Robert Service tape was acquired as a gift with the papers of L.J. Peter. The collection consists of one cassette tape.

ARRANGEMENT AND DESCRIPTION

Side One: Information about Service during his Canadian period with recitation of excerpts from his poems.

Side Two: Recitation of Spell of the Yukon, The Gramaphone at Fond Du Lac, The Quitter, The Shooting of Dan McGrew, and the Cremation of Sam McGee.

The recordings of his poems were made during visits to Vancouver, B.C. when he appeared on local radio stations.
