They reported extensively on their experiences as Washington State College students, writing about their classes and professors, labs, social and cultural events, their friends and acquaintances, and campus jobs they took to help pay their educational expenses during the early years of the Great Depression. Both sisters were residents of Erani House.
In addition to the sisters' letters home, the collection includes one letter from their mother, Katherine Heinrich of Spokane, papers related to the Erani Club, memorabilia, and photographs, including photographs of Ilene and Irene Heinrich and a student group portrait taken on the steps of Senior Hall.
Arrangement note
