Collection Description
The collection includes a bound manuscript account book with records of sick cows and herds in and around the county of Philadelphia that Francis Bridge treated, quarantined, or ordered killed for suppression of disease in the course of his veterinary practice and his work as first assistant state veterinary surgeon. It also includes several related manuscript items. Most of the documents are about contagious pleuro-pneumonia in cattle.
