Biography/History

Jerome Gold is a Seattle area author and proprietor of the Black Heron Press. In 1991 and 1992 he interviewed the publishers of many small presses in the Pacific Northwest about their experiences. These he later published as Publishing Lives (Seattle: Black Heron Press, 1996).

Arrangement

The Jerome Gold Publishing Lives collection consists of interview material Gold collected for his book about the operators of regional small presses. Included are written transcripts, summaries and notes as well as cassette recordings of the interviews. These have been arranged according to the order of appearance in the completed book. A first series is comprised of written material and a second series of recording cassettes.
