Scope and Content

This family diary begins with an entry from June 22, 1915, the wedding day of Elta Mayer and Herbert Arthur Coull: "This is our family log book. In it will be inscribed--The important events, the names of visitors, and any other thing that should be put into the record as we sail the sea of life." The contents of the diary reflect this intention, with most entries by Elta Coull and others by family members and friends, recording personal matters and family, social, and civic events.
