Biography/History
Gus Norwood, a 1938 graduate of the United States Naval Academy and World War II veteran, served as the Executive Secretary of the Northwest Public Power Association from 1947 to 1967. He later worked for the Alaskan Power Administration, the Atomic Energy Commission, and the Bonneville Power Administration. He authored a policy history of the BPA, as well as the Southeast and Southwest Power Administrations.

Scope and Content
This collection includes Gus Norwood's unpublished 1985 manuscript, "Public Power in the Greater Northwest" (reproduced typescript, 180 pages), along with a later foreword by Eric Norwood, and a brief essay by Gus Norwood, "Prevent Missoula Floods!"
