Biographical/Historical note
The Washington Dairy Women was originally called the Dairy Wives of Washington State, which was formed in 1954. The main function of the Washington Dairy Women is to promote public awareness of dairy products' nutrition through sales promotions and educational programs. The Washington Dairy Women annually sponsor a Washington State Dairy Ambassador program, which selects a young woman to serve as the official representative of the dairy industry for the state of Washington. Her duties include public demonstrations and educational programs on dairy nutrition.
